Makeup 101: How to define the Outer-V

We have different eye shapes and sizes, and finding the outer "v" can be quite difficult at times, especially to those with small lid space like me (small eyes or monolids). I am not claiming to be an expert make-up artist or anything, but I just want to share with you how I do or intensify my eye make-up, that you might also find helpful and interesting.
Here's How...

Start by Priming the lid and underneath the eye with a good eyeshadow primer ; they make shadows stay vivid and last longer.

1. Apply any eyeshadow you like all over the lid. Blend out any harsh line and gradually diffuse the color little above the crease to create a gradient.

Now, Choose any crease color that is darker than the eye shadow that you applied on your lids, define your Outer "V"~ that creates an illusion of deep set eyes using the right tool. Of course, depending on the size/shape of your eye, you may use different brush for defining.

I prefer the following: Small Tapered Blending brush like MAC 226 or Sigma E45,  Pencil Brush Mac 219, small shader brush like MAC 228 or domed shaped brush like MAC 217-or any brush of your choice that can naturally fit into the creases of the eye where the lids bend so a smoother and better makeup application is possible. Check suggested Crease Brushes Here

The crease or outer part of the crease can easily be find when you slightly press your brush tool and feel the eye socket.

2. Start by applying the first line of the V- it starts from the outer end of the eye to the outer edge or tail of your eyebrow. While, the other line of the V- is the outer part of the crease where you can feel your eye socket below the brow bone.

3. Feather in the shadow color, Blend a little of it inward up to the middle crease, then lightly and gradually diffuse little above the crease.

4. Depending on what you want/desire, you may deepen the outer corner of the eye and smudge a little into your eye crease
Don't extend much color above the crease, Leave enough space for the brow bone highlight. Use a Blending Brush or a Large eyeshadow brush to blend out any harsh line, and soften the color.

5. You may use a highlighter to bring out more of that wide-awake look, applying any white or lighter shades with a slight shimmer on the inner corner of the eye and iridescent on the brow bone will make eyes look brighter.

6. Apply a thin line to define the shape of your eye. You can extend your liner or wing it a little--this will make your eyes look big or dolly.

7. Tightline the upper and lower lashline.
Apply any smudge-proof gel, cake, or eyeshadow powder with a flat definer, angled brush or small shader brush~ to make your lashes look fuller and thicker. (Fo further,  How-To Tightline Click here)

8. Curl the Lashes and finish it with a good Lengtening Mascara.
You may also apply Faux Lashes (KKCENTERHK ES A003) to add extra drama.

The Final Look!

Hope it helps!
Happy Thursday Everyone!
xoxo

My eyes aren't particularly deep-set or big, but for some reason, the outer corners of my eyes are so sharply defined, resulting in a prominent outer v even with bare face. O_o Nonetheless, I love tutorials like this because I'm clueless about mixing, matching, and blending eye shadows. I want to be able to use colorful eyeshadow and still look appropriate for office and daytime activities. You look gorgeous and I can imagine using this look (with different color sets too!)
